How we helped deliver quality geosynthetics for this road project in Sydney’s inner west.
Our customer secured the contract to deliver a road pavement reconstruction project for Burwood City Council. The Portland Street location in Enfield was in need of resurfacing to repair significant damage and bring it up to spec with the surrounding roads.
This routine road resurfacing project could have easily become an issue when the specified product – a patented geogrid / geotextile combination – was out of stock at the contractor’s other supplier.
The premium patented combination product had a hefty price tag, presenting the contractor with a situation where the project could run over time and over budget.
Intent on delivering the best result possible for Burwood City Council, the contractor scrambled to find an alternative that would ensure the project remained on track.
When the contractor approached the Polyfabrics team, we were able to spring into action, delivering a heavier, higher performance asphalt geogrid / geotextile product – picked immediately from our substantial stock.
The mastaGRID Asphalt geogrid/geotextile was not only in stock, but it also came in at an agreeable price, fitting neatly within the project budget.
mastaGRID Asphalt is an engineered geogrid designed for soil stabilisation, separation and reinforcement applications. Manufactured from extruded polypropylene, the grid is heat bonded to a layer of mastaTEX nonwoven geotextile to form a sound composite structure.
mastaGRID Asphalt helps to prevent reflection cracking, water damage and improve load capacity in road construction and renovation. It is resistant to high temperatures and helps to considerably extend the lifespan of asphalt pavements.
This product is ideal for applications including base reinforcement, embankment stabilisation, subgrade reinforcement and more. Contact the Polyfabrics team for personalised engineering advice and specifications on our range of asphalt geogrids.
