Geogrid reinforcement for soil

TerraGrid® Uniaxial PET 120 is a high-performance soil reinforcement geosynthetic product.

It is made with polyester yarns that have a high molecular weight and extraordinary tensile strength. These yarns are then knitted into a dimensionally stable network of apertures to form a geometric grid shape which offers tensile reinforcement to the soil in both the vertical and horizontal directions. TerraGrid Geogrid interacts with the soil particles to create a permanent composite soil/geosynthetic structure.

TerraGrid® is coated with a black saturation coating to provide further chemical and mechanical benefits that preserve its durability in any environment. In order to provide the most efficient design possible, TerraGrid is produced in multiple strengths.

Applications

• Reinforced embankments over soft soil – TerraGrid Geogrid interlocks with structural fill to provide a strong “mattress” foundation that significantly increases the stability over the weakest soil. This turns the weakest subsoils into a structural base to build over for surcharge embankments, crane pads, haul pads and more
• Segmental retaining walls – TerraGrid can be used to reinforce permanent retaining walls that are faced using Segmental Retaining Wall concrete blocks
• Reinforced steep slopes, Landslide repair, Reinforced foundations – Maximizing land use is critical as it has a major cost impact on any site development. Challenges in resolving grade change on the site are increasingly necessary as land cost increase and the difficulty to develop property becomes commonplace. TerraGrid combined with traditional erosion protection products and vegetation can provide sound engineered solutions
