The Project
The $100M Blacktown International Centre of Training Excellence is an ambitious project to deliver a world class multi-sports facility in the heart of Western Sydney.
The centre will serve visiting international elite teams, local representative and community sportspeople, and the general public, offering cutting-edge training, physiotherapy, and sports science facilities.
This new facility has a planned opening date of early 2023, with early works beginning at the start of this year.
The Challenges
This is a multifaceted project involving several buildings, access roads, parking areas, landscaping and precision-engineered sports training arenas.
The contractor delivering part of the athletics facility required a geosynthetic solution that could meet the necessary specification for separation and High Strength, High Visibility marker layer.
Our Solution
mastaTEX® Hi Vis Layer from Polyfabrics is an orange geotextile used to warn of potential danger for future excavations, whilst minimising the upward movement of contaminated solid particles. It allows the free flow of water via needle-punched construction, making it ideal for separating contaminated and non-contaminated soils.
The Polyfabrics team was able to assist with plenty of product in stock as well as a geosynthetic dispensing frame available for immediate dispatch. This guaranteed there were no supply delays for the contractor who was able to begin works immediately.
Available in a number of strengths to suit site requirements, this high-performance nonwoven geotextile also meets Transport for NSW (TfNSW) QA specification R63 Geotextiles (Separation and Filtration).
The geosynthetic dispenser attachment supplied by Polyfabrics meant that the contractor could install the product quickly and efficiently, keeping the project on track.
