The Project
Our customer secured the contract for a residential subdivision on Scrubby Creek Road at Browns Plains, south of Brisbane. The development included a substantial bio basin that needed to be constructed quickly and reliably.
A geosynthetic solution offering low permeability and high strength was required.

Our Solution: GEOmasta® Composite HDPE Bio-Liner
Given the shape and overall area to be lined (563.75 m2), the Polyfabrics team suggested a single welded pre-fabricated membrane.
GEOmasta® Composite HDPE Bio-Liner would provide a fast and cost-effective solution that met the requirements.
Following a review of the plans and some precursory site measurements, our team of engineers provided a preliminary sketch and recommended deployment methodology to ensure the installation was as smooth as possible.
Our recommendations for the contractor included the use of butyl tape to seal around pipe penetrations and any precast elements. This would ensure the installation met the required spec for sealing around protrusions.
GEOmasta® Composite HDPE Bio-Liner is ideal for lining applications requiring low permeability and high strength to density ratio. Due to its excellent chemical resistance and low material cost, HDPE is perfect for containment structures such as bio basins, containment areas, tailings ponds, small dams and channels.
