The Project
We were recently approached by one of our valued clients, Civil Force, a leading construction company in Australia, to provide a solution for building a maintenance access track to service the newly constructed stormwater management ponds at Deakin University, Waurn Ponds. The access tracks had to be constructed on steep gradients using insitu material while being able to withstand heavy maintenance vehicle loads.
The Challenge
One of the significant challenges in the project was to build a maintenance access track to service the detention ponds. The access tracks were to be constructed on steep gradients, using insitu material whilst also being able to withstand heavy maintenance vehicle loads.
Our Solution
After a thorough analysis of the project requirements, our team of experts proposed an access/maintenance track design using EROWeb® 150mm geocell.
By using EROWeb® 150mm geocell, our client was able to increase the bearing capacity of the surface, enabling it to withstand heavy maintenance vehicle loads. This solution was more cost-effective as it did not require subgrade improvement or imported fill material. The ultrasonic welding of the cell walls in EROWeb® 150mm geocell also provided the added benefit of creating a stable surface that can withstand heavy loads.
The design proposed by Polyfabrics was accepted by the client and the installation was carried out successfully. Our client was pleased with the outcome of the project, which was completed on time and within budget, thanks to the cost-effective solution provided by Polyfabrics.
More information about EROWeb® 150mm geocell
EROWeb® 150mm geocell is a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geocell, which is manufactured with ultrasonic welding. The ultrasonic welding of the cell walls creates an extremely strong and durable cell structure. EROWeb® 150mm geocell is a cost-effective solution that increases the bearing capacity of the surface, providing a stable surface that can withstand heavy maintenance vehicle loads.
