Preventing erosion with Geomasta Softrock Sand Containers

The Project

Erosion can be a serious problem, causing damage to the environment and endangering infrastructure. In Tweed River Shire, the Cudgeon Creek bank was being eroded, endangering the access road to Robert Dixon Park. This prompted the Tweed Shire Council to look for a solution that would prevent further erosion and protect the road. Polyfabrics Australia had the opportunity to work with the council on this project and provide a solution that would meet their needs.

The Challenge

We took up the challenge to supply Tweed Shire Council with cost-effective heavy-duty sand containers and installation filling machines that would prevent erosion of the Cudgeon Creek bank. We knew that time was of the essence, so we made sure to hold project quantity stock of heavy duty SoftRock Sand Containers, enabling us to supply and deliver the required product at short notice.

Our Solution

Polyfabrics has been supplying sand containers and bespoke geosynthetics for many years. As part of our continuous improvement program, our R&D Team have engineered our new Geomasta Softrock Sand Containers. These containers are designed to be more robust and durable than the previous “Standard” and is equal to “Vandal” grades of Sand Containers. This makes them the perfect solution for erosion prevention and repair projects like Cudgeon Creek.

Geomasta SoftRock Sand Containers are highly customisable to meet specific customer needs, even for medium-sized project works. We can manufacture Softrock with lifting slings, increased UV longevity, increased abrasion, and increased robustness.
