The Redland City Council embarked on a significant infrastructure project to upgrade the 2.3 km stretch of Wellington Street and Panorama Drive between Boundary Road and South Street. This project, valued at $42.7 million, aimed to enhance road capacity, improve safety features, and upgrade crucial infrastructure along the busy corridor.

Georgiou Group was awarded the contract to deliver this large-scale project, relying on their proven expertise in managing complex infrastructure upgrades to ensure its smooth execution.

Overcoming Drainage Challenges

One of the major challenges encountered during the project was revamping the drainage system. Effective drainage is vital for any road project, ensuring its longevity and optimal performance under heavy traffic loads.

As a trusted supplier in the construction industry, Polyfabrics played a key role in providing essential materials for the drainage system upgrade.

Meeting Logistical Hurdles

Understanding the critical nature of timely deliveries and technical support for a project of this scale, Polyfabrics addressed the logistical constraints posed by Panorama Drive’s busy traffic. They implemented a streamlined supply chain to ensure fast turnaround times on product deliveries, aligning perfectly with on-site construction requirements.

Innovative Solutions for Lasting Results

Polyfabrics rose to the challenge by supplying Agflo® Class 1000 single wall PVC subsoil drainage pipes, manufactured according to both AS2439.1 and IPWEA (Institute of Public Works and Engineering Australia) standards. Supplied in convenient 100m lengths, these pipes not only reduced loading costs but also expedited installation, contributing to project efficiency.

Furthermore, Polyfabrics provided mastaTEX PF14 Non-Woven Geotextile. This crucial material provided essential protection against fines infiltration into drainage media, ensuring sustained performance and longevity of the drainage system.

A Testament to Partnership

This project exemplifies the importance of strong partnerships in achieving successful outcomes in large-scale infrastructure projects.  The collaboration between Polyfabrics, Georgiou Group, and the Redland City Council highlights the synergy that can be achieved when different entities work together towards a common goal.
